A lovely interaction I had with a 5 year old girl
at the park the other day:
Girl (playing with my dog): Your dog is really cute.
Do you live alone with her?
Me: No, we live with my boyfriend. He’s better at throwing
the frisbee for her.
G: So, are you married?
M: Not now, but I’ll be married soon.
G: So, does that mean you are a grown up?
M: I guess so. Yes.
G: Is he a grown up?
M: Sometimes, yes.
G: Well, are you 21?
She was so interested in a grown-up that wasn’t a mom,
and was obviously confused by me. Adorable.
In other news, Rob and I totally got engaged. As in, to be married.
