Nicole + Yannis 2 December 2011
Rob and I had the best time getting to know all these folks, who traveled from all over the world to celebrate with the lovely Nicole and Yannis. They couldn’t have picked a better venue- the Ace Hotel in Palm Springs doesn’t really even need much of an introduction. It’s a totally hip and wonderful little mid-century mecca in the middle of the desert, and it’s truly as wonderful as everyone says it is (more photos from our stay here). Blackstrap Molasses made music, everyone ate yummy food, watched the hazy sun set over the mountains, made speeches in French and then translated said speeches into English, hung out by the fire and ate smores, and then eventually tore off their formal clothes and jumped into the pool for a night swim while I hummed this song over and over. The best.
Also, a hearty warm welcome is in order, as Nicole and Yannis coincidentally just relocated to Portland a month ago. We only sing about night swimming here, though, guys.
