I’ve been working really hard on fine-tuning my print and book options for folks. Personally, I’m a shy gal when it comes to my home, and don’t like to hang my face around my house (i.e. wedding portraits), but I still want to browse through photos, or see a special image or two on the wall. That said, here are a few new things that can blend into home decor without screaming “my face is everywhere”:
1. Bamboo Book – locally bound and printed. Really amazing in person, and bamboo is a sustainable wood, so that’s a score.
2. Reclaimed Wood Keepsake Box – handmade locally from 100% reclaimed wood by Pecan Workshop. Fits a ton of prints. Good for folks (wedding, probably) that have a ton of images and want them to thumb through instead of culling favorites for a book or album.
3. Fabric Scroll – Really delicate and subtle. One of my favorites. Printed locally on fabric, and then mounted to a walnut dowel with a leather hanging strap.
4. Shadow Box – Again, really delicate and refined. Archival bamboo rag print pinned and mounted in a custom frame with non-glare glass. The print hangs relatively loosely inside the frame, so there’s a bit of shadow behind it. A favorite, for sure.
Let’s start a print-those-photos-and-get-them-off-the-computer movement, shall we?
